Hunger Action Month

Get Ready for Hunger Action Month - September 2008!
Hunger Action Month is an opportunity for Americans to show united support for one of the most solvable social issues in the country—hunger relief. This September River Bend Foodbank, America’s Second Harvest and the more than 200 foodbanks in our network dedicate Hunger Action Month to:
The 35.5 million Americans who are food insecure, of which 12.6 million are children.
The more than 600,000 seniors who are food insecure. The gap between what indivdiuals earn to create and maintain a decent quality of life and what they earn is widening and what once seemed like a struggle, is now a battle.
 All the men, women and children who face hunger and food insecurity every day.
All the men and women in America who go to work every day but still struggle to feed their families.
Every one of us can help. As the month draws near, we will be posting concrete ideas that both individuals and companies can use to make a real difference in alleviating hunger right here in our community.
